Cats on Tuseday - Welcome New Kitty?!?!?!

Huh........?????
Who is that Amanda-like brown tabby behind Amanda the kitty????????????
It almost does look like Amanda...
Colors and marking are just like the same with green eyes...
Huh....?

This is actually a pillow that I made a little while ago.
I went to the fabric store the other day(as usual....), and I was so excited to find this cute fabric!
I really think this brown tabby on this fabric just has striking resemblance with Amanda!
It's like an "easy pillow making kits".
You would get a cat printed pattern on the fabric, and all you need to do to make a pillow is,
very easy!, cut the cat patterns from the fabric, then sew the pieces together, and plump with stuffing.

Its easy as 123!
A simple as Do Re Mi!

Tada!!
Here I've got a kitty pillow!

Alike as two peas in a pod??!!

I kind get little confused with this pillow as Amanda :)

Thanks for visiting us!!
Happy Cats on Tuesday!

Hoshi

Cats on Tuesday - A Clever kitty??

Or is she a bad girl???

NO!! I'm a good kitty!!

Amanda learned how to open the kitchen cabinet door while I was visiting to Japan.
I wonder who taught her that???!??!?!!!?
She only enjoys trying to open this one specific cabinet.... nothing yummy is inside... just human food(rice and flour!) and cooking bowls....
Although nothing hazard or toxic things are in this cabinet, I tried to secure the door with Velcro tape...
Didn't work!!!
I wonder I should get something like Child proof door locks??

By the way, this is my first movie on Youtube!

Cats on Tuesday - My New Welcoming Cats Collection

While my stay in Japan, I bought few welcoming cats(Maneki-Neko) in addition to my collection :)

This small "round" kitty is designed so that its weight causes it to return to an upright position if it is knocked over. This is one of a Japanese traditional doll called "Okiagari-koboshi", which is considered a good-luck charm and a symbol of perseverance and resilience.

I purchased this blue porcelain kitty from "Mie" the Poster Kitty, when I was visiting to the one of lovely shrine in Tokyo. It's quite small one, about 3" tall, but I love this color and I think this kitty is quite pretty :)

I found these couple kitties at an online store.
I actually found the bowing style cat which just look like these couple, and I always wanted to add the traditional style to my collection.

Sure... Amanda is my Oscar winning "welcoming cat" :)
No kitties could beat Amanda...

purr me?

Have a happy Tuesday, my friends!!

Cats On Tuseday - Hoshi's Vacation....

So..... I have been having a very very difficult time talking to Amanda past few days... about "the THING"....

The thing is, her mom, which is "ME", is going on her vacation, and she will be gone for a month....

So Sorry,,, Amanda....
Yes, I said... "I will be gone for a month. "

Yes, Amanda.... It is "REALLY"...... :(
I know.. I know..

Me and my husband are going to visit my family in Japan, and I will be staying there whole February...
Although my husband will return to the U.S. earlier, and Amanda still will be staying at home all by herself for 10 days.....

SIGH

I'm very lucky to have a very wonderful friend to take care of her while we are gone.
She is a very trusted friend. Yet.....
I'm SO nervous and worried about Amanda, leaving my little kitty alone for such a long time.... :(

I hope Amanda won't get too upset with me, nor forget about me once I come home in March...

Oh... my dear friends, I may not be able to visit you for next couple days or so....
But please, please, please, don't forget about us!!!!

I will be posting about my trips, kitties in Japan, and of course Amanda even while I'm on vacation!!

Stay tune!!!

Hoshi

Cats on Tuseday - My First Cat Collars

My first cat goods that I have ever made was a cat collar for my first loving kitten, Austin.
He was way too skinny and mini, and nothing from pet stores would fit his tiny neck.
So I simply told myself that......
if there's nothing from the stores, so why not just made one by myself???

Weight me???
I made my first mini kitten collar for Austin, from a firm blue ribbon with Velcro, so that it would easily release him when I got stacked in something.

He was looking quite sexy with his blue collar :)

I made another one with my favorite polka-dot too :)

Now.... I feel....that was where I started making kitty goods...

My experience with Austin was,,, quite painful and I still get sad feelings when I see his pictures... But I also have so many beautiful memories with him, and he taught me so many life lessons....he was very brave and lovable... He was truly a "gift" in my life :)

Kitties are just so AMAZING furry creature.... aren't they?????

Cats on Tuseday - Prototype Dresses

CATS ON TUESDAY!

For more Cats on Tuesday, Please visit to Gattina.

Here I am, this is my 2nd. week of "Cats on Tuesday"!!!!
Thank you all for visiting my blog last Tuesday :)

This is actually my first dress that I ever made for Amanda about couple months ago.
I thought it came out just okay, and I liked the fabric.
But Amanda wasn't quite comfortable to wear this dress.
You can see it from her face... she doesn't like it at all.....
The problem was,,,, I made this dress with using the dog costume pattern, and it would wrapped around her body and her chest wholly.
Plus,, it does look so baggy....

So, I had to modify the pattern to fit better, and something less stress for Amanda.

Prototype 1 - Red Rose Dress

oversized!!!!!!
back style - with big red ribbon

I eliminated the part wraps around the chest to make it more flexible and comfortable, just fastens at neck and belly with velcro.
But....too loose around the neck this time.
Oh No,,, I didn't get the size right this time again....

Prototype 2- Green Polka-Dot Dress

SIGH......

After this green dress, I made a yellow polka-dot dress for her, and it came out just perfect!!
Finally..... :)

Just right before the winter arrived, I made this blue quilt for Amanda.
Actually, it was my very first time to made a quilt.
So far, I haven't got any complains from my very important client, Amanda....
I guess she's still enjoying taking a nap on it.
